Every so often, I just really enjoy photographing some "big" architecture. Luckily, St. Louis has a wealth of really beautiful and complex architectural spaces.
This is St. Cecelia's Cathedral, located deep in the heart of South St. Louis City. The sparkling gold on either side of the basilica are mosaics. I was pleased to find the holiday decorations still up. Hey, the theme this week is architecture... what a great excuse. :)
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by... very much appreciated.

A spectacular space, for sure; and how beautifully decorated it is for Christmas. I really like your composition, which shows us many awe-inspiring architectural details. What a treasure.
@cejaanderson You know, this is just a tiny cathedral... the main one is a few miles away, with an amazing (really) mosaic collection on the wall. If you were to see this from the outside, you would think it remarkably unimpressive.
