Sorry... this is kind of gross, at least, upon initial inspection. We get locust shells outside this time of year, from the locusts shedding. Anyway, I took one of them for a photographic lap around the block, yesterday.
Initially, kind of icky... but I thought the amber light reflected through the shell was intriguing, along with the idea that most things in nature have their own unique beauty.
Thanks for taking time to visit; as always, very much appreciated.
PS... maybe I should have named it "not by the hair of my chinny, chin, chin!"

An entomologist's dream image! It IS intrinsically beautiful, and I like the way you've chosen to describe it! My own little granddaughter, Hazel, was carrying one around when Heather photographed her! They ARE fascinating!
Stunning.. perfect image. I like what you said... I agree, its amazing where we can find intrigue, mystery and beauty. I really love this, but then I love bugs.
Would love to see a front on shot too.
