This is not a good photo for its technological qualities but I had to take a photo (with my phone) of the video I recorded this morning so it is poor quality. However, I just had to share it with you as I sat at the kitchen table watching the babies hatching! Mummy blue tit took the shell off one as it popped out - it was a wonderful experience and I could have cried with happiness! I was late going shopping as I just couldn't stop watching. The blobby things in the photo near the 2 eggs at the front are actually the chicks! They must be so small but they have been fed as Dad has been busy bringing food in for them.
I am busy getting ready for my forthcoming trip to Chicago so I have been sorting out the food I will leave for Steve (the freezer is full to bursting!) and I have also been trying to sort out my young plants to grow them on - i.e. tomatoes, runner beans and courgettes which I have grown from seed. I have had a really busy day so it was not surprising I have resorted to phone photos today!
Thanks for getting yesterday's kingfisher and wren on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Safe travels to Chicago . . . see you next week!
