This whitethroat was busy feeding his babies in the nest but he does look rather tatty! Poor little bird. Birds do make wonderful parents and when I think back to my health visiting days, I wonder why some humans can't put a bit more effort in! I probably need to qualify that for people who don't realise that I went on to become the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children for the PCT. Unfortunately, when you do that job for 7 years, all you hear about is the parents who neglect or abuse their children and it's a very stressful job which is why I took early retirement from the NHS.
