I have to say that I told this chap a lie when he asked me whether I had taken his photo. I will probably never get to heaven but I just couldn't resist as he was such a character. He was playing his whistle in the grounds of Chicago zoo and he was very knowledgeable. He knew more about British history than I do and I'm ashamed to admit it! However, he did not have the necessary social skills as we couldn't get away from him. I couldn't believe it when we got into the café and he came to the next table while Pam was getting something from the counter. He asked whether I would look after his things while he went to get something to eat. He soon came back but I was grateful that Pam came as well and said that we needed to be somewhere. What a relief not to have to suffer another lecture!
Wow! What a story! Sadly, that's a story like so many others where *for some reason* (I won't judge) his piece of the puzzle no longer fits into the whole. Nice looking, talented and intelligent,...what went wrong? A good image, Rosie, and something I'll likely ponder on the rest of the day.
Oh yes I remember him well!! LOL!! Such fibs we told him!! Of course we wouldn't take photos of him or of children would we? Glad he didn't ask to look at our cameras!! A very intelligent man who quoted Rupert Brooke to us. Very interesting to listen to him but we were rather pleased to finally escape!! This is a great candid of him - well caught!! You must have just beaten me to it as my shot has his making a cross sign at me with his hand and his whistle!! Is it a hex sign? LOL!! Fav!
its a great portrait and I love the way you have your yellows all lined up. I know someone who regularly quotes "it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission!"
