This is where cabbages come from

This old chap was cutting cabbages (no doubt for market tomorrow) and he had nothing on his arms. It was a freezing cold wind blowing across the field and I had a shirt, jumper and parka on and I felt cold. He said that "where there's no sense there's no feeling!" He had a great beard which I would like to have captured but I took this when he wasn't looking. I'm sure after I spoke to him he wouldn't have minded me taking one from the front when he was in action with his big cutting knife! I wish I had more courage to ask if I could take a pic
i guess it is true that when busy, hard at work, some people just do not feel the cold. my husband is like that but me, i am cold all the time. nice shot, rosie.

well I like this shot anyway - shows the man hard at work. I guess he won't feel the cold when he's working hard.

Cool! While visiting Oregon this summer I bought one at a roadside stand the size of a basketball and posted it here on 8-5-12!

@busylady @greyfeather Thanks. I think the cabbages in this field were normal sized
