The Brook by rosiekind

The Brook

I walked about half way along the brook this afternoon but didn't see the kingfisher. My ankle has been really hurting so I couldn't walk any further and stopped off at Danish Camp to have a cup of tea and a rest before making my way home. I hope my ankle is not going to be a long term problem. The Doctor says it's arthritis but it's really beginning to affect my walking and it's frustrating. I keep wondering whether to rest it or keep it going in the hope that movement will keep the joint lubricated. I had to get up at 3 am to take some painkillers as my hip, knee and ankle all were playing me up. It's all on the right side of my body as my right wrist is also giving me pain. I keep thinking of the Who song: "My generation" and the words, I hope I die before I get old! They obviously had a lot of foresight! By the way, I'm not depressed just fed up with not being able to walk so far as I was averaging about 4 or 5 miles a day
Beautiful scenery.

Rosie, what a shame about your arthritis, my husband has the same issue and like you it really frustrates him. I look forward to you catching a shot of the kingfisher, as that would be my dream shot!

Are you taking cod liver oil, or glucosamine tablets? They're supposed to be very good. Love the shot by the way, wi the view of the bridge between the trees.

A beautiful scene, like how you've caught the cycle on the bridge!! Hope the aches and pains clear up soon.My scoliosis is playing up these days, can't walk at a pace any more, just potter about slowly with my camera.

Rosie, sorry you have those pains and maybe you should just take it a little bit easier for a while. Omega 3 is also supposedly good. Peaceful green shot.

@daisyjuds @pixiemac @gerry @busylady @carolmw @quietpurplehaze Thanks everyone. My GP suggested I take Omega 3 and Glucosamine but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Mind you perhaps it would be worse if I didn't! I can't take anti-inflammatories because they upset my stomach and have to take meds for that anyway. The pleasures of getting older!

This looks like a beautiful painting. Sorry to hear about your ankle. That must be very frustrating. Hope it feels better soon.

That is a lovely painting type photo! Love the composition.
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your ankle. Does Ibuprofen upset your stomach? It is one that I am able to take without problem (thank heaven)...prescription anti-inflammatories usually wreck my gut.
