It's one hell of a bit of kit!!! Big Bertha 80-400mm lens delivered on Sunday evening and I've not really had a chance to put it to the test as the weather has been so awful. I didn't plan on that when I had it delivered 1st class!!! Good advert for Nikon though
@rosiekind Thought so. I rented one recently and was very impressed. Smooth operator throughout the focal length range. But for $2,600 I would expect that! Have fun you lucky devil... @burstofessence It handles beautifully. At 3 1/2 pounds, it is a whole pound lighter than the Sigma 150-500 and beautifully balanced for hand holding. Its performance is stellar, I just wish I could afford one. It is almost as sharp and clear as the f/2.8 and the f/4.0 70-200 where they overlap, and absolutely stellar at 400, the Sigma and the Tamron "equivalents" are left in the dust.
