Well I've tried shooting and processing RAW images and quite honestly, I think I like the jpegs better so it's not worth all the fuss. That's just my opinion of course and I am a bit lazy regarding editing and don't usually bother too much. I would rather be out taking the photos than sitting at my silly laptops that don't do as they are told.
Rosie, with the Raw you save so much more data which you can play with at a later date. If you use JPEG you hand so much control to the camera. All you have to do with Raw is some basic sharpening. I don't take long and agree re the fiddling bit I am pleased I shoot in RAW as I can keep the data for future use.
Just my penny worth
RAW processing takes some getting used to but i find it really rather fun in Lightroom as you can adjust to your hearts content and then crop (if required) and convert to jpeg and always be able to go back to the original as Lightroom is non destructive editing 🙂
