The Upper Barrakka is Valletta's most beautiful park. It was created by the Knights of St John and of Malta in 1775 on the bastion of St. Peter and Paul. It is the highest and most impressive point of the city walls and offers a magnificent view over the Grand Harbour and the old towns of Senglea and Vittoriosa, the creeks around them as well as the lower-lying parts the capital. In the park there are several statues and memorials.
