SAN GWANN PARISH CHURCH (2)

This is a close-up picture I took from a different angle of the main altar of San Gwann Parish Church decked out during the festive season. The first time I saw these decorations, I loved the red ponsiettas contrasting with the green of the plants. In front of Baby Jesus there is also a terracotta jug pouring real water into the bowls below. I decided there and then that I had to return to capture some pictures. I went there on 3 consecutive days before I got this picture right – each time having to wait for the church to empty.

You can also note the use of ‘gulbiena’ (vetches) for the decoration. For those who saw my Christmas Day picture, I had ‘gulbiena’ decorating my Baby Jesus at home.
Thank you so much for looking at my pictures and for your nice comments on yesterday's
very ornate church and interesting information Dione, the real plant look lovely

that's a lovely display - we put our crib in church under the lady chapel altar, but it's big enough to have two altars
