CHADWICK LAKES (4) – End of the road

The asphalted (in some places full of potholes) street along the ‘lakes’ (or valley I should say) ends here. A 90 deg turn onto a bridge as narrow as the street and a long hill climb will take you up to Rabat and Mdina. But the valley carries on for quite a long walk on rough ground. Have walked it all the way once but with the right cloths. A couple on horseback take the bridge for a ride along the empty street along the valley.
A very young soldier-recruit weighed down with full soldiers’ kit (some 20 kg) drowned somewhere here while on a strenuous training exercise. None of his mates noticed his absence before it was too late.
Many thanks for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.

Looks like a great place to be. Beautiful shot. (It's so tragic, that the soldier drowned and no one noticed.)
