CHADWICK LAKES (9) – Birds

According to Birdlife (Malta)’s website this bird is a Black Redstart – funny name since the red colour is nowhere on this bird. Most of the birds I saw at the Chadwick Lakes are new to me. Haven’t taken an interest in birds before I joined 365.
Many thanks for looking at my pictures and for your nice comments on yesterday’s.
another unusual bird, great to see that malta has a lovely variety of birds

What a neat tidy little bird. The background is very helpful for indicating size. Focus is spot on!

Cute little bird. I wasn't that interested either until I joined 365. I amazed at how many different birds I see now that I never noticed before.

No red plumage, but is a cute little bird. I like seeing bird photos on 365. They are mostly birds I do not see here. Great shot!

nice capture of the surroundings and the bird - that one is new to me too - although we see redstarts here in summer. Apparently, having checked my "The Birds of Britain and Europe" black redstart because it has a red tail and white underwing but goes darker and greyer in winter. They do reach Britain, but the far south west.

Thanks Shanne for your interest and help. I got my information from the Birdlife (Malta) website. If you wish, you may visit it - I found it quite interesting.
