The last picture of my narrative of our vacation at Valle d’Aosta was when of Chillon Castle. From there we headed to this tourist mecca – Montreux in Switzerland.
I couldn’t resist posting another collage with pictures of all these beautiful flowers and a close-up shot of one of the statues decorating the park along Lake Geneva in Montreux . Along the walk there are statues of very important –artistically speaking – people who gave performances in the town, such as Madonna and Freddie Mercury. Montreux is a holiday location very manicured and for the well-to-do (not me). Montreux’s history goes back to Roman times – though it was inhabited even before then during the Bronze Age period. Situated on the road that from Italy crosses the Simplon Pass it was a very important settlement for the Romans.
Many thanks for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture. Yesterday night, we have been to Notte Bianca in Valletta. It was a lovely evening with thousands of people who filled the streets and eating places. We left at midnight but the activities continued for very much later. The weather was nice and warm and I have taken many shots, some of which I will post in the near future.
