The sea was choppy at Għar id-Dud – pronounced ‘are id dood’ even though it was a lovely sunny and windless day. The name of the place means the Cave of worms. Għar id-Dud is one of the most popular parts of Malta especially in the summer. It forms part of the promenade which surrounds the sea side of Sliema and continues to Spinola on one side and Sa Maison on the other. The name comes from a half submerged cave which is said to extend across the wide promenade, under the 4-lane road and perhaps even under the buildings beyond.
Thank you very much for looking and for great comments on yesterday’s picture.
