From 9.00 am, people and gulls (not in picture) started gathering around the Grand Harbour to give a warm welcome to their two heros, Jeff and Nick. Banners and flags of Malta were hung and everything was ready for their arrival.
George: “Hey, Joe, did you hear that on the radio?”
Twenty onlookers; “Are you speaking to me?”
George: “Sorry, I’m talking to him.” Pointing to the Joe nearest to him. “ Did you hear the latest?”
Joe (the one spoken to): “No, what about?”
George: “They’re not coming today!”
Joe: “Who? Don’t say it’s the frigate with the gulls!”
George: “Yes, I’ve just received an sms from the news network. The frigate has met with some trouble and will not make it to port today.”
Joe: “When then?”
George: “It doesn’t say.”
Joe: “No reason to wait any longer then. What a disappointment!”
Within 15 minutes all the banners are folded up again and the Lower Barracca is empty and quiet.
Now, about the man who was reading the news - Ann Spiteri definitely knows, she met him in person – and so does Jennifer Carr. The nice guy was only me; actually it’s my head superimposed on that of the real news reporter, haha.
To be continued tomorrow.
Uh oh- if Jeff and Nick keep this up they'll lose the support of all Malta! Had a little chuckle over the comment by Anne thinking, "I'm the Ann without the E."
You make a great newsreader.
