Please view large. Posting early today before my grandson, Max, comes. Will comment later.
On the left is a shot of yesterday’s prime-time news on the national tv channel - TVM - run by the Public Broadcasting Service. One of the headline news was that Jeff and Nick will arrive on the morrow. I took this shot from my favourite armchair in my living room. The reflection is on a round coffee table on which I enjoy putting my legs while relaxing in front of the tv; the remote control is on it too. I thought that with the reflection, the shot would look better. Don’t you think the newsman is a handsome man? I do. Tomorrow I will tell you his name, if you don’t guess before.
On the right is the front page of the most popular Sunday newspaper in Malta. It also carries the news that the frigate on which Jeff and Nick are will be arriving the next day.
On the frigate H.M.S. Westminster sailing near the Greek islands.
Jeff: “Hey, Nick, how do you feel now we’re near home? You look very moody.”
Nick: “ I was thinking that we will have to do a lot of adjusting to get back to our normal life. How about you?”
Jeff: “Now that you’ve asked, I am very anxious. I am excited to be back with our own folk but so scared of staying on that beach in Sliema, gazing at the water all day long. Say, you must agree we had a great time and so many interesting adventures, together. This journey with you has been so much fun. And with you by my side I have always felt confident we would do it. Whatever good I did was only for your mentoring and assistance. I will always be very grateful to you, Nick. I’d better stop, I’ve got tears in my eyes.”
Nick: “ You too have been a great partner, Jeff. You have inspired me with your courage and your optimistic approach to every problem. But life has to go on. We will adjust in time, you’ll see.”
Jeff: “Did you hear that?”
Nick: “I did, Jeff. That is a very strange sound. Let’s go and see what’s going on.”
To be continued tomorrow.
