This is for Alia (alia_801 ace) who asked if I had been on a boat ride. Yes, we did have a boat ride on the lake.
21st August. From Monte Lussari we returned to the hotel had a five minute break to go to the bathroom and off we went again to Lake Bled to go for a boat ride to the Bled Island (pictures later). The picture shows a boat other than the one we were in with other members of our group. A boat like this can take up to around 20 passengers. Inset photo shows the oarsman of the boat we were in. I would have dated him if I were a young lady – he was very handsome.
These boats are flat-bottomed from the looks of them. We were constantly told not to move in order not to unbalance the boat. At one time somebody from the opposite side of the boat we were in moved and the boat tilted slightly to that side. The oarsman shouted ‘balance’ and those on my side almost panicked and we were very close to rolling over on our side. I wouldn’t have minded it if I didn’t have my camera and all my money and bank cards in my pockets. The water was so beautiful and very inviting.
