The weather was dull throughout this week but I still managed to go out almost every day. On 11/11 I was making the round of the promenade when I saw this gull landing on a concrete pier. I thought I saw something in its mouth. I took some shots of it and patiently waited to see if I could capture it as it flew off which it didn’t. When I got fed up waiting I left. On my way back it was still there.
When I saw the shots on the computer I was amazed to find that the gull had a small fish in its beak which it had just caught - the fish was still struggling, as you can see. Then I realised why the gull hadn’t flown off again. It had its stomach full.
Wasn’t that a surprise catch – not for the gull but for my camera.
I will be off to Gozo for the week-end so hopefully I’ll be back on 365 on Monday.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday’s picture. A laugh a day keeps the doctor away – at least that’s what I say.
Hope you enjoy your weekend, Dione.
