Ira Losco in concert. From our weekend in Gozo of a week ago.
On Saturday, Ira Losco was the main star in a concert given under the marquee tent on the main square of Rabat, Gozo. There were many fans following the show – not as many as I had expected for the name, though.
Ira Losco is one of the most successful and favoured Maltese singers/song writers of contemporary times. She has performed both in Malta and abroad and was placed second when she represented Malta in the 2002 Eurovision Song Festival in which all European countries send their best talents to participate. In 2003, she was chosen to perform the song called "Reaching Higher" which was the official song of the Xth Games of the Small States of Europe.
Ira Losco also performed whilst opening concerts for international stars, in front of audiences of 80,000 at a time. She has opened for Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Katie Melua, Mel C, Ronan Keating, German Superstars Tokio Hotel and Söhne Mannheims and many others. All these concerts where held around Europe.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
