Location: Mellieha Bay, Malta.
Jeff: “Hey, Nick.”
Nick in a sleepy voice: “What, Jeff?”
Jeff: “I could spend the remaining days of my life relaxing on this beach. What about you?”
Nick: “I’m not so sure you can while away your time in this way, Jeff. You’re too fidgety to stay like that for long.”
Mystery Man: “Hello, boys! Do you remember me?”
Nick: “Sure I do. We turned you into a millionaire with the first book you wrote about us – ‘Gull’s Travels’. Robert Louis Stevenson, that’s who you are and, I remember, we thought you were the 365er, Jason Daniels when we saw you the first time. We made you rich with that book, didn’t we?.”
Mystery Man: “You didn’t fare badly with that book either, did you?”
Nick: “Well no we didn’t. Anyway, how are you getting on? What brings you here?”
Mystery Man: “I heard you have been on another adventure.”
Jeff: “Wow, news travels so fast, here! Yes, we were.”
Mystery Man: “Would you like to share it with me so we’ll have another blockbuster of a book?”
Jeff and Nick, together: “Not this time, mate. We had too much publicity the other time. We couldn’t stick all the harassment we had from those paparazzi. We’re not prepared to go through that once more.”
Mystery Man: “I will not pressure you but if you change your mind you can contact me on 1010101010. By the way, would you be going on another adventure soon?”
Nick: “Well, I’m not sure, I’ve been to Australia twice and now the recent trip! Who knows what will come to pass in the future. Our aim is to enjoy some relaxing time for the moment.”
Mystery Man: “Promise that we will continue to be friends.”
Jeff and Nick: “Of course we will, Robert. Come and visit when you have time.”
Mystery Man: “I will. Can I offer you another drink before I leave?”
Jeff and Nick: “No thanks, we’re fine.”
Mystery Man: “Ok, cheers then.”
And so ends another adventure.
