THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN by sangwann

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN

A final shot from the Sacra Cuor festa.

While the front of the church was full of lights and activity, the rear was deserted and with only a few lights.
Having taken some shots of the church interior, Christine left to go and meet friends on the promenade. We went through the streets that surrounded the church and when we came to the rear I saw this lovely spectacle again with the church dome. So out had to come the camera again for some more shots.
Brazil vs Germany - Brazil were annihilated. They just didn't know what hit them and just ran around in circulars. Well done Germany. I thought it would have been a hard fought game with a very narrow victory for Brazil. How wrong was I.
Thank you so much for looking and for your wonderful comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Sorry, they ran around in circles.

I love this shot Dione and have really enjoyed this series of buildings. Seems everyone was taken by surprise by Germany's absolute runaway win!

Fav! Exquisite details and incredible lighting. Yep, that game was a surprise and glad Germany won, but all those riots and burning after are uncalled for.

Really like this, the lighting is super, and good POV, Dione. Brazil did not deserve to win, they were very lucky to have got this far! They kicked the Colombian striker James ???, constantly fouled, and were treated leniently - very! - by the referees. I wrote how unfairly Croatia had been treated in the opening game of the WC vs Brazil. And they only beat Chile 3-2 on penalties. Germany were excellent in all departments, Brazil fell apart. Neimar's injury was a bit of revenge, frustration because of the way Brazil had kicked etc. Colombia. And Silva deserved a yellow card - they should have been issued in the first half, then Colombia wouldn't have taken things into their own hands - weak refereeing, it has marred this tournament until last night - good Mexican referee. Some of the others were a joke!

i feel badly for the brazilian fans, losing is bad enough, but being embarrassingly bad makes it worse.

I just think this is a lovely shot! fav Jeff and I were stunned by that game! We couldn't believe our eyes. Of course it was no surprise to hear today that the coach was subsequently fired. But I honestly don't think it was all the coach's fault. However, he is the one who will take the blame.

Beautiful church. I'm always amazed at ornamental and historical buildings that you share. I just don't see these in Indiana.
