THE DOOR AT N0 6

Tuscany holiday – day 4 - while I continue to sort out and process all the shots I took .

After lunch at San Gimignano we drove to Monteriggioni, a medieval walled town, located on a natural hillock. The town is referenced in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. The roughly circular walls, totalling a length of about 570 metres (1,870 ft) and following the natural contours of the hill, were built between 1213 and 1219.
This cute door and its worn out textures attracted my attention.

Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments and the fav’s on yesterday’s ‘Independence Day’ picture.

This definitely had a medieval look and feel to it. You'd think b&w if not for the tiny touch of color in the flowers. Good use of s/c. Love the feeling of the textures.
