The story of the bible was not repeated yesterday. Malta lost at home to Italy 1-0 but it was a respectable result considering that a Maltese player was sent off after 20 minutes play for a foul (I saw the incident on tv later and it didn’t appear to me that it merited a sending off). Malta played with 10 players up to around 20 minutes from the final whistle when an Italian player was sent off, too. You should have been there to hear the cry of joy by the Maltese supporters when this happened.
Malta defended for most of the game but it was an organised defence not simply blocking the goalkeeper’s area. What would anyone expect from a tiny nation that is playing against the masters of football.
I haven’t been to see a football match for years and I enjoyed the spectacle of a full stadium with cheering supporters.
More shots to come after I see what I have captured.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments and all the fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
Cool shot! Malta should be very proud of holding Italy to one goal, especially playing one player down for most of the game.Looking forward to seeing some of your shots of the game.
This pic is full of the energy you feel when you attend a game and are ready to yell your heart out in support for your team.
You're right about the farmers not being able to do without such big equipment. (Big Boy Wagons). There's one old couple who still farm a small number of acres and work with some very antiquated machinery. They go by the house dozens of times a day with their old truck pulling a very small trailer (and I do mean very small, especially when compared to the hoppers like the ones in my photo). People say though that they're well-to-do because they've never spent the big bucks on the mammoth equipment. Thanks for stopping by my project again.
One really huge shirt! Awesome capture. It is wonderful going to see live sport - the atmosphere is amazing, but much better to watch at home on tv, I think
What a cool flag!! (I guess it's a flag!) That is a highly respectable result considering you were playing a man down and against such a powerhouse. This is a great shot and a fav for this US "Soccer" mom.
