PAINTED BLACK by sangwann

PAINTED BLACK

I saw this gull standing all alone on a concrete pier and was amazed to see its head all black. It had either had it painted black for the carnival fooleries or else it is a species that I have never seen before.

Joke: After a long day a sailor enters a bar, and noticed a pirate sitting at the bar. The pirate has a peg leg, a hook for a hand, and an eye patch. So the sailor walks over to the pirate and says, “May I ask how you lost your leg?" The pirate replied,"Arrrrr one stormy night on me ship I fell overboard, and a shark swam up to me and bit off me leg." The sailor says, "That's too bad, but how did you lose your hand?" The pirate resplied,"Arrrrr one day at sea me and my crew were battling an enemy and we were using swords so one of those B**t**ds cut off me hand." " Inquisitively the sailor asked again: “How did you lose your eye?. "Well, one summer day I was looking at the clouds, and a seagull came and pooped in me eye." Said the pirate. "You lost your eye because a seagull pooped in it? “Said the sailor. " No, you see it was the first day with the hook! “Said the pirate.

Thank you very much for looking and for the wonderful comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
BTW the carnival defile was held as planned yesterday night. It rained all day but stopped a few hours before the defile was about to start. No pictures to show of the event.

Interesting facts, Dione: The Black-headed is a small gull, very pale with a dark, brownish hood in summer. In breeding plumage it has a bright red bill with a white eyering contrasting with its dark head. In winter, it has a white head with a black spot behind its eye. Its very social and noisy, often seen in harbours feeding on food thrown at them by passers by. They are not restricted to sea, many are seen in flooded fields searching for worms in the soil. This bird nests in colonies, with the nests varying from small scraps in mud to structures in reeds or rushes.
