This orange wild flower is so small, its diameter is less than half a centimetre. It was growing among some sweet alyssum which I have in my garden and made good contrast with the other flowers. So I had to take a shot of it. Isn’t it pretty?
Joke: This young bloke approached this old man to compliment him on his gorgeous, well-kept garden. “How do you manage to do that?” He askes. The old man replied: "The best way to garden is to put on a wide-brimmed straw hat and some old clothes. And with a hoe in one hand and a cold drink in the other, ………………tell somebody else where to dig."
Thank you so much for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
(Just looking in briefly and saw this on my home page)
Great find and capture, I like the shadow of its stamens on the petal.
I used to see these in Kent, the county where I was born and brought up. I know them as Scarlet Pimpernels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anagallis_arvensis
