You will like this shot for sure. This is one I will treasure and it’s all sooc.
After the morning’s walk, last Friday, I was sitting at table with my brother in an open-air part of a small snack bar having a coffee. This is the type of place where workmen stop for a quick drink or brunch before carrying on on their work.
At one time, this cute little sparrow flew down onto the table where a guy was having something to eat and having a look at the day’s newspaper. For a split second the bird looked at the man as if imploring for food. I snapped two quick shots of him before he flew off again with some crumbs.
Joke: There once was a tiny brown sparrow, who was very tired of flying south every winter, just so he could fly all the way back to where he flew from. So one year, he decided to stay, and spend the winter in his tree.
The snow hit the ground, and while the other birds fly off he sat in his tree. Pretty soon it got really cold, and he decided he didn't want to stick around, so off he flew. Before he got very far, his wings froze. He dropped from the sky and landed on the roof of an old barn, and fell right through onto the dirt floor. A cow in the barn accidentally poohed right on him. The sparrow, although depressed, realized that the pooh was warming him up, and his wings were defrosting! He was so happy that he began to sing; a cat heard him, dug him out, and ate him.
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
BTW The peach tree I have in my garden is an early-flowering one and the peaches it produces ripen before the bulk of the fruit produced by other trees.
Stunning and a definite fav. Interested to hear about your cousin. I've probably seen him at shows. I don't show my papillons but i go to a lot of shows to help out a friend with her dachshunds
the lighting on the bird is amazing, like he was meant to be captured by your camera. wonderful shot, fav. your joke will run through my mind many times today as it searches for its meaning. it is there, somewhere. . .
Lovely capture! We watched a little group of sparrows sneak into the cafe once. One sat on the table pecking at the remains of a muffin and dropping crumbs onto the chair below, where two others pecked at crumbs and dropped some onto the floor, and another couple of sparrows ate those. Periodically they swapped around - very smart, and cute (and probably fat, given that they must have eaten half a muffin between them - and appeared to know exactly what they were doing!)
Awww it is such a sweet capture. Amazing how all gods creatures seem to have human like expressions from time to time. Love the lighting, which makes it all the more expressive.
Oh, how sweet! Great timing and the sunlight reflecting off the paper on the table is lighting the little sparrow up beautifully. She does look as if she could do with some more food!
