HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CLOCKS by sangwann

HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CLOCKS

Shot taken on 27th June – Second day of our vacation.
A popular cuckoo clock shop which stands up to its name. Inside there are thousands of hand-carved superior quality cuckoo clocks on display and for sale – I had a good look around and took many shot of cuckoo clocks inside but didn’t buy any. The façade of the shop has a working clock with moving elements.
The Black Forest area is the place known most worldwide for the manufacture of cuckoo clocks.

Joke: Stella died and went to heaven ... As she stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, she saw a huge wall of cuckoo clocks behind her. She asked, "What are all those clocks?" St Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie, the cuckoo will come out and call while the hands on your clock will move." "Oh," said Stella, "whose clock is that?" "That's your Bishop’s. The cuckoo has remained silent and the hands have never moved, indicating that he never told a lie." "Incredible," said Stella. "And whose is that one?" St Peter responded, "That's your parish priest’s clock. The cuckoo cry and movement of the hands has occurred twice, telling us that he told only two lies in his entire life." "Where's my husband Joe’s clock?" asked Stella. "Joe’s clock is in Jesus' office.” “Wow, that’s marvellous” cried Stella. “Just let me finish” said St Peter. “ Jesus broke off the cuckoo from the clock and is using the clock as a ceiling fan and it’s rotating with high speed.”
Thank you so much for looking and for all the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
It looks very touristy but I do like the idea of a cuckoo clock! Might drive me mad after the first 24 hours though!
