Saw this cat snuggled on the stump of a cut-down palm tree and I took a quick shot before it decided to jump off. I only saw its tongue licking its mouth when I uploaded the shot on the computer – probably it had something juicy to eat.
A red weavel found itself in Malta a few years ago – we didn’t have any before that – and it has multiplied and killed many beautiful palm trees we have embellishing the island. The responsible government department has lost hope of eradicating the insect and olive trees are being planted as replacement to the dead palm trees.
Joke: AA three-year-old boy went with his dad to see a litter of kittens. On returning home, he breathlessly informed his mother, "There were 2 boy
kittens and 2 girl kittens."
How did you know?" his mother asked.
"Daddy picked them up and looked underneath," he replied. "I think it's printed on the bottom."
Many thanks for looking and for all your lovely (and fun) comments on yesterday's picture.
Good shot! What kind of tree/bush is the cat sitting under? It has some really interesting branches there! So sorry about the palms too. Maybe nature will run its course and the weevil will die out. Here's hoping at least.
That was good timing lovely capture. The cat choose a great spot for a snooze.
