At last I can start showing some of the shots I took during our five-day Sicily holiday of three weeks ago. Like I’ve done with other holiday shots, I will intersperse them with shots from home.
This is the view we had every morning while having breakfast at our B&B in Stazzo. Breakfast was on the roof terrace of the Palazzo where one could admire the view. Christine and I have been at this place before and I showed a similar picture – including the red tower crane. The view shows its majesty, Etna, the volcano that dominates the whole of Sicily; the trees are all lemon trees.
We went with Denise (our daughter), her husband, Ian and their son, Max. Denise and Ian had been to this lodging at least four times before and were on friendly terms with the proprietors – very nice people.
Joke: An old couple go for a couple of days to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at the same hotel they went on honeymoon. The first thing they do was to ask for breakfast to be served in their hotel room.
"Just think," the old man says, "we were sitting here at this same hotel room, naked as jaybirds, 50 years ago."
"Well," the old lady snickers, "what do you say -- should we get naked?"
The two immediately strip to the buff and sit back down at the table. "You know, honey," the little old lady says slyly, "My breasts burn for you now as they did 50 years ago."
"I'm not surprised," replies the old man. "One's in your coffee and the other is in your oatmeal!"
Thank you very much for looking and for all the wonderful comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Beautiful view to go with breakfast, the volcano is a point of interest.
