My elder brother (and best friend) has suddenly become, not only a priest but also a monsigneur.
Last week I went to see this presentation on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Salesians Brigade. This presentation revolved around an old table which ‘tells’ the history of the Brigade through short scenes of major events which it went through (including two world wars) during this period of time.
The Salesian Brigade was started as one of the activities of the Salesians of Don Bosco to occupy children in a religious environment. You can read more about this community on Wikipedia. It started as the Salesian Boys Brigade as only boys were allowed at the Club but with time it changed into the Salesians Boys and Girls Brigade and now Salesian Brigade. It is a sort of Scouts Group but limited to those who attend at the Salesian Club. My elder brother is currently the Head of the Brigade.
Joke: At one Army base, the annual trip to the rifle range had been cancelled for the second year in a row, but the semi-annual physical fitness test was still on as planned. One soldier mused, "Does it bother anyone else that the Army doesn't seem to care how well we can shoot, but they are extremely interested in how fast we can run?"
Thank you very much for looking and for all the lovely comments, the wishes and fav's and for putting my shot of yesterday on tp and pp. You are such a great community.
I think most people around you would know these stories and the history! I find it utterly fascinating and would like to know more- which I can do through internet! Simply wonderful photo!
The presentation looks like it would have been a fun evening :)
A lovely memory of the day.
