A few more of the watches on show. I was marvelled by the elaborate cases – some very carefully painted, other with gems much smaller than a pencil point.
Most of the watches were mounted on mirrors so one could see them from both sides. So you get selfies here, too.
I was lucky and at the same time sorry. I had the Panasonic with me which is not so efficient as the bigger Nikon but less conspicuous. I was a bit scared to take photos as I didn’t see any of the people – not many – with a camera in hand. When I was taking my last shot – of the information poster on yesterday’s picture – the receptionist made me a sign that photography was not allowed. I hadn’t seen a sign which was partly hidden when we were going in, otherwise I would have regretfully obeyed the rules. So lucky I didn’t see the sign as otherwise I wouldn’t have taken any shots and sorry for having done that.
Many thanks for looking and for the lovely comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
I am mesmerised by the beauty and craftsmanship of the many watches illustrated here -- thank you for sharing -- you and your brother must have had a wonderful time at the Expedition !
Ahhhhhhhhhhhahahahaha!! Sorry, but No Trespassing and No Photo Taking are like invitations to me!!! I can sort of see how trespassing might be wrong but photos? C'mon, the light from the flash isn't going to do anything to the watches! All of which are beautiful, I might add and you made a very nice collage out of them!! FAV!
Well presented shots, lovely montage.
I bet you weren't the only one who hadn't seen the sign. Sometimes they are so discreet that they are easily missed. Is it a temporary exhibition or a permanent one?
Beautiful. I am a collector of all kinds of watches. Some old some new. I started collecting a series from the UK called "Pocket watches". You do receive every two weeks one watch and a few pages to complete a book. These watches are not worth much, but you do have an example. I think I collected 70 so far. Fav!
It's one of those things where once you've taken the shot you don't want to delete it either even though you weren't supposed to take it! I did that at an underground archaeological dig in Israel. It was only after I'd taken the shots that I saw the signs saying photography was not allowed. Oops! Great collage!

t allow photos as long as you don't use flash.
