Posting from Gozo. We have a long week-end and we came with our children, partners and grandchildren for some lovely time together.
Still posting shots from our first day in Andalusia - Seville.
La Giralda is the bell tower of the cathedral. It was part of a mosque built here around 1000 years ago and furthered developed later. A friend who was with is on the tour and I went to the top and took some fantastic shots of the scenery. Christine and his wife decided not to come along.
The name Giralda derives from the word 'giro' which means 'turning round'.
Thanks a lot for viewing, for commenting and for the fav's.
The architecture is so lacey and lovely as well as dramatic in the Moorish influence. You are bringing back memories of a visit to Seville many years ago. Nice history too.
