We were early at the venue because Denise (Max's mum and my daughter) asked her mum to go there early to help with the arrangements. Like every previous year I was asked to take my camera to take pictures (they didn't have to ask me). The light was very difficult at the venue and I spent most of the time trying different manual settings for my camera. This is one of my first shots. I included the balloons to give some colour to an otherwise dull atmosphere.
Looks like it's going to be quite a party! Interesting how the chairs have been set at an angle that seems to suggest an invitation to sit down - like a welcome.
Good idea to include the balloons, the colour does lift the shot.
Happy birthday Max. I am sure it was a wonderful event. I struggle with indoor shots too. A tripod is good for them but not always convenient at these types of events.
