Today I will start the first series of shots from our Barcelona holiday. Till now I have managed to sift through the shots I took on the first day. According to my sister’s mobile – it was Christine, me, my sister and her husband who went on this vacation together – on this first day we walked 38,000 steps (or paces). We were lodged a couple of metres from La Rambla, the city centre and only ten minutes walk down to the Christopher Colombus Column.
In the right shot MaryGrace (my sister) and Christine pose in front of the monument. In the left shot is a close up of the statue of Columbus. Inside the column is a tube-like elevator that takes you up to the crown-like base to the statue. Of course we took that elevator.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and fav’s. They are very much appreciated.
Wonderful shot of Columbus, I didn’t know about the elevator.... But I passed him sitting in the hop on-hop off bus a few years back. It’s a great city and i’m realy looking forward to this series!
Great captures of the statue.
We`ve lot`s of buildings toin the cities. Only the villages are excluded. There is no permision, or just a few, and higher is n`t allowed at all.
Nice collage- it must be rather large to house an elevator which makes me think it is similar to our Statue of Liberty. Is Christopher pointing toward the New World?
