One last image (or collage) of this amazing creation by a human being. I am not an expert on architecture but to me it seems that architects in Barcelona during the early 20th century – the Gaudi period – made a lot of emphasis on light and colour. The beauty of the basilica is based on the colours emanating from the coloured glass and that is why I said previously that we made the right choice to go in the afternoon when the sunshine was best to illuminate the basilica.
The picture on the left needs some explanation. There was a mirror – or, perhaps a magnifying glass aound 1 metre square - at knee level in the middle of the basilica to show the ceiling in more detail. It was worthwhile taking a shot through it.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
