THE CAPER by sangwann

THE CAPER

Capers give a wonderful taste to Summer dishes like salads, tomatoes, olive oil, some tuna and other juicy ingredients. Some Maltese bread goes best with them. Capers are the buds of the flowers before they open – you can see a few here. Put them for some time in olive oil or vinegar and you get the best taste. The caper tree grows wide, through crevices in the rock mostly.
Took this shot while on our walk to Mġiebaħ beach.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and fav’s; much appreciated.
Yummy

Makes my mouth water Dione ! and a beautiful capture of this bush , such a shame to use the buds before seeing the glory of the flower !( I do realise they are grown for commercial purpose !)

I learned something new. I've often wondered what capers really were. I had no idea how they came to be. Interesting, and the flower is quite pretty.

A lovely shot Dione. Are caperberries then the fruit from these flowers. The name would indicate that? :)

@robz I don't think so. Capers are the flower pods before they begin to open.
