I QUATTRO CANTI by sangwann

I QUATTRO CANTI

September 18th – last day of our Sicily holiday with the family.
Half day at Palermo before going to the airport for our flight back home.
This is a square standing at the intersection of two of the most prominent streets in Palermo, Via Maqueda, and Via Vittorio Emanuele. In English the name of the square is ‘The Four Corners’.
The four façades represent the cantons and have been adorned on multiple levels, featuring decoration based on the classical Doric, Ionian and Corinthian architectural orders.
Here you can see the contrast of the lighting as I turned from one façade to the other from the same spot.
Thanks for your views, comments and fav's. Always appreciated.

How interesting -- and that last one is so beautiful sun-lit and well framed, too.
