A few days ago the sea was rough and we decided to give it a miss. So Max (grandson) and I set off with the cameras to do some bird spotting at Salini Salt Pans Bird Sanctuary. We did not see a single bird but while walking back along the salt pans with some disappointment I spotted two crabs chasing(?) each other in shallow water. I was amazed at their size because we often see crabs at the beach but they are atoms compared to these. They must have been at least 25cm in width not counting their ‘arms’ which altogether would have been at least 40cm. Their claws were as big as my thumb and pointer finger together.
Thank you very much for your views, comments and fav's. - always appreciated.
Its very blue and I think that is the species! I'm lost with cm and have to work it out with inches' my hubby despairs of me! Sound quite small and not a future lunch dish! Good - it is a great shot!
