Friday before yesterday I went for a long walk along the Strand in Sliema – from Ta’ Xbiex to Tigne’ Point and back. It was a beautiful day. Many yachts were active in the bay, each one going its own way. They could have been taking part in some sort of competition or trying the winds and currents for the Rolex Middle Race which I later learnt was to start the next day (Saturday) from the Grand Harbour, on the other side of Valletta.
The yachts are categorized for the race according to their sailing power and the winner of each category gets a prize. However the overall winner could not be the one that arrives first – too complex to describe. I was intended to go and take some shots of the start of the race on Saturday but my son came to install a new printer I had bought for the computer but the thing was very complicated and he finished too late for me to go to watch the race.
After a week of continuous rain and wind the sun is out today and I am now off for a walk and lick the sunshine.
Thank you very much for looks, comments and fav's.
Love to read how your day has gone. I'm glad you put the printer in the first priority. You have somehow got some good yachting scenes here and they are very big yachts too!
