I have been waiting for over a month to see a bird at my new feeder. And it was yesterday's robin to be the first that I saw . However I am not one who has the patience to sit in a corner and spend hours waiting for the birds to come.
This is my new feeder. I made this by cutting in half a 10 ltr plastic jerrycan which I have had in my garage for years on end without finding any use for it. I cut out four openings, one on each side. For the roof, I had two pieces of wood which I sawed slanting, joined them together with 3 mm 3ply sheets and covered the lot with alumium foil which is used by the printing industry and which were given to me by a friend years ago. As for the paint, I used red left-over paint which I used years ago and was still in perfect condition. Cost = 0 Euros, 0 cents.
Thank you very much for your looks, for your comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
You have created a great restaurant for the birds. I'm lucky with the birds that visit our garden because they are usually very loud so I generally know when they are about :)
