Day 3....an awesome visit to Cruachan Power Station, built inside the mountain - Ben Cruachan - in the 60s with amazing engineering. Link below if you are interested.
Later we found a railway station where creative and enterprising couple have transformed the old buildings. Waiting rooms are now bedrooms for Airbnb, and an awesome range of natural fabrics and craft activities flourish in the other end of the building. Liz gave us her time so generously though we had interrupted her sorting a huge selection of flowers from her polytunnel which she uses for dying and printing. It was totally inspiring, and the train goes by regularly throughout the day. The platform is a gallery/shop....like no other.
Afterwards we climbed a hill to a monument to a Gaelic poet where the photo was taken using panorama on my phone.
Before heading back to the hotel we visited an old, but still used, church with some very old graves /stones.
Too many good things to just have three...but we did feel grateful for safe travelling as there had been a serious RTA on a nearby road, six ambulances and some of the injured airlifted to hospital in Glasgow.
You certainly piled in all the interesting things into your days! Good that you are both interested in finding out things. That railway station sounds inspiring! So many of them around the world falling into disrepair!
Thank you for your lovely comments....we have come home for a rest!! But it was a superb few days.
