Christmas cake by sarah19

Christmas cake

This was only about 3inches long but it arrived with Jonathan and Fiona who were just back from their holiday in Florida. I have to say it was the sweetest tasting cake I ever remember eating!!!!
Three good things
1 Safe travel and even though their landing was a little bumpy at Aberdeen they did arrive via Atlanta and Charles de Gaulle with all their luggage.
2. Allan had made tea in advance so all ready to eat soon after he had picked them up.......I am very grateful!!
3 Just so glad that we are having dry weather .......and feel for those on the west and south who are having a seriously wet time. ....and for those who travel on the Forth Road Bridge which is closed for the next few weeks!!!
Cathy was just thanking the luck that she & her friend Jo had by booking last weekend instead of this for their weekend in Edinburgh! No trans running north of Preston & Jo would have used the Forth Bridge to travel south to Edinburgh....lucky girls! Pretty cake even if sweet!

@happypat that was very lucky for Cathy and Jo! I managed to book rail tickets for Susannah coming home at Christmas as she often takes the Megabus but that would take forever with the alternative route. Perhaps it will make people think about car use though, and some positives may come from it all. Terribly inconvenient for so many at the moment.
