Sunshine, snow and stones in the square

Loved the way the light fell on the stones in the town square when we were at the shops this morning.
The snow showers have been coming and going all day but roads are clear and it's not going to be hanging around for long.
The stones are part of a community arts project from 2011 and we're quite used to them now!
"The sculpture consists of three large spheres of granite, gneiss and gabbro; sourced from Aberdeenshire quarries. Carved in designs based on the enigmatic neolithic stone balls known as 'petrospheres' that are estimated to have been produced between 5,000 and 2,000 B. C."
Three good things
1. a good long sleep. ..just what I needed
2. Smoked haddock from Mike the fishmonger who parks his van in the square on Saturday mornings
3. A gentle afternoon reading the paper and catching up on letters and stuff!

More details on the stones for anyone who is curious.

The balls are different colours and types of stone and based on very old designs from this part of the world around 5000 years ago!
