Cloth Face Masks by seacreature

Cloth Face Masks

It is now mandatory in South Africa to wear cloth face masks every time you leave your own property. I believe the law is too vague and not completely logical because police have even been stopping people alone in their own car and fining them for not having a mask on ... I think that shows a complete lack of any kind of understanding of how a mask is supposed to protect anyone. But aside from my personal opinions about the implementation of the law, I have made two masks for myself, and one for a friend who didn't have, and now I am using excess pillow cases from my cupboard to make masks to donate to the poor folk who can't afford to buy.
Good on you!

@narayani @777margo @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you all. Yes the cloth facemasks are not going to protect the wearer. But I understand the whole idea is to protect other people from the wearer. It will stop droplets in the breath landing on goods in the supermarket, for example, as they will mostly be caught in your mask, but we all know it is not going to stop viruses coming through if they are in the air. But if everybody is wearing a triple layer tightly woven cotton mask, there shouldn't be any viruses in the air, we hope.
