Bejewelled

There is definite colour appearing in the garden, from the yellows of the witch hazel and mahonia, or the purple hellebores and the tall shrub with small purple flowers on bare branches, visible from the kitchen window, the name of which always escapes me. Leafless coloured bark is also a feature. I always think that the red dogwood is in the wrong place - a previous gardening resident of our home planted it at the bottom of the garden where we only enjoy it during a trip down to the compost heap. This salix, though, is by the patio, and can be appreciated from the house, and when we head out for dog walks. The weather has been warming up, but the garden is far too wet for some early pottering and weeding. I always look forward to the first flush of spring, even though within a few weeks it will turn into an overwhelming burst of gloriously uncontrollable growth.
Well done for this beautiful capture! I have tried unsuccessfully several times to get this wonderful raindrop effect but my results were always disappointing, despite the twinkling droplets I saw in front of me I never seemed to catch them in the shot! You have managed it really well!

Lovely twinkling raindrops. Nice effect. With regard to the weather warming up, there is a saying: "If Candlemas be fair and clear there'll be two winters in one year" (Candlemas day is 2nd february, the day hibernating animals wake to check the temperature). So lets hope for a cold month.
