I thought I'd take a crack at capturing a hummingbird in flight. I got a few of this female Ruby Throated Hummingbird, but was unable to get a fast enough shutter speed to freeze it's wings.
What a fabulous capture Skip, wonderful colours and composition is terrific. I agree with @lynnb , I've never seen one for real so I'm so amazed at the photos!
Really like this. You got what you should sharp, and I like having some feeling of motion in the wings (hummers and helicopters should show some motion, ot give you the sense that they are really flying). I wouldn't change a thing as far as shutter speed.
