We went to our daughter's and granddaughter's church today for their Summer Festival. Here are two shells breaking bringing a wonderful day to and end.
I followed Jimmy Beltz's suggestions for shooting fireworks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZrGkc-c7wU

Thank you all for your gracious comments and the Favs! I followed Jimmy Betz's You Tube suggestions for shooting fireworks. Set my camera to manual, using f/5.6, ISO 400 and shutter speed of 1 sec.. I mounted the camera on my tripod, used my new lens zoomed all the way out to 70mm and used my remote shutter release. I think next time I'll use a smaller lens and try to track a shell from ground to break. I was surprised as to how close, not dangerously close, but closer then normal, to the fireworks crew we were able to get. I missed a lot of shells since we were right at the minimum edge of the fallout area.
