It was such a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l day my wife and I went to the park to walk, talk and take some photographs. This is the same bridge I photographed on January 2nd of this year when the lake had been drained so that the Army Corp of Engineers could dredge it and rebuild the dam. http://365project.org/skipt07/365/2013-01-02
I'd like to return again when the trees get a little more color.
@photo_mum - Thank you for the follow Pauline! I have returned the favor.
@kwind - Thank you very much Kim! I hope we get a colorful Autumn and I remember to go back :)
@maggiemae - Thank you Maggie! This park is open to public, but is privately owned.. Many years ago a very wealthy family left it as a gift to the community and provided the finances to keep it going. Trustees oversee for it care. But because it is open to the community they have received grants from the state. Some of the money was used to renovate the bridge, dredge the lake, rebuild the dam and remodel the casino. It has always be called the casino but there is no gambling. One of these days I will photograph the beautiful casino and the lake.
