My wife and I visited a local health store when we learned that they were closing. We bought our vitamins and supplements here and other health products. The owner said that she can't compete with the big box stores anymore and large corporations are making it more difficult for small business owners as they continually buy out their competitors then place restrictions on ordering policies. Other problems are that consumers have become lazy to some degree and started buying more online and ignoring the small businesses in their area, COVID-19 took its toll on small businesses unless they were able to adapt and offer curbside pickup. Then governments overstepped their authority with their regulations that benefitted large businesses. Now governments are completely ignoring small businesses by allowing large corporations to buy out their competitors. One thing I remember my 4th-grade teacher telling us was, competition is one of the things that made America great. It allowed small business owners to compete with larger businesses. Does that mean, America is no longer great? I'll get down off my soapbox now. [BoB]
Thatโs sad, I love local family owned business. I can see that the competition is fierce. Great capture, works well in black and white to bring out those spiky edges.
